1/8/2024 0 Comments Sunvox push down![]() ![]() Happily I fully expect to be gone in 2-3 years so really none of this will matter for me, but for those with a long remaining career my advice is as you get raises do NOT expand your lifestyle but rather put the money in the bank and furthermore be careful what you wish for. Obviously, this is not a sentiment shared by many here. Using the lingo brought out by others recently it is my opinion that the Delta AIP should be a "template" not a "baseline". Do I think that will be good for UAL pilots during the next economic crisis? Nope - not in the least. We were bankrupt a few years later.ĭo I believe Neil will get us a stupendous contract? Yep - without a doubt. Assuming United ends up with the highest costing labor group by a wide margin then history shows us that the end result is not good when that happens. We work for an industry that is littered with the corpses of failed airlines. As I posted in the UAL Pilots forum, I fully expect Neil (if he keeps his position) will in fact negotiate a contract that is Industry Leading and chock full of QOL gains, BUT you and I will disagree (as will many others on this forum) that gaining such a contract is NOT a good result. I do not.įinally, you hit the proverbial nail on the head with regards to my biggest concern. Does that make my opinions any less valid? You may well feel it does. No, I have not done any union work nor have I ever had a desire to do such. Secondly, your question is typical of ad hominem internet discussion these days. That says nothing as to whether or not they will pose a problem going forward with regards to internal ALPA politics. I said in my post his comments are not HR actionable. Have you ever done any union work? The fist half of your comment shows your lack of ability to use logic. ![]() You don't seem to understand what it takes to get an industry leading contract. It isn't because Toddlers already forwarded stuff to HR. I had high hopes we were about to elect some new blood, not elect someone loaded with decades of baggage. It truly saddens me that we have sunk to this level as a union. My only hope is that the mere optics of his posting history will be enough to get him removed from office even if it isn't worthy of HR intervention. ![]() Neil's online persona is simply reprehensible and will not reflect well on our union as his rants become increasingly public which of course will happen over time. Neil is smart and dedicated and should play a role in ALPA that can be said without question. I admit to misjudging people's online intent and often misinterpreting political intent, but that does not carry over to my interpretation of people with whom I have personal experience. Anonymous social media talk doesn't get it done.As is typical of political animals like yourself, I'm afraid you are mischaracterizing my previous comments. Then by all means you and those you think are capable should step up and get involved. As you readily admit you more often than not wrong in your online assessments. WADR that is a ringing endorsement of NS. ![]()
